A small road trip including myself and 4 others was taken down to Tauranga, about a 2.5 hour drive from Auckland. Started off with a slight problem of forgetting my clothes and being too far into the drive to turn around and collect them again. That was okay, and an easy problem to deal with since Anton kindly donated some shorts to wear. After arriving to the beach, the weather wasn’t at its best, so chilling out on the beach without any form of sun protection was a reasonable choice to make. That was until about 2pm when the sun comes out, full force, giving me one of the most intense sunburns I have ever had to deal with. Moving on to later that night, having a few drinks with mates and playing card games etc, I ended up dealing with sun stroke, becoming extremely cold, and ultimately leading to vomiting in the toilet of the apartment we were partying in. Thank goodness my mates are freaking amazing and did everything they needed to, to keep me comfortable and take care of me. Today, we were heading home via some waterfalls. Before we got to the waterfalls, my van made the sound of a bang and died. The radiator hose had blown. So we got the van towed to a place which could repair it. Unfortunately just replacing the hose was not going to fix the van and it turns out to repair it, it would actually cost more than what I paid for the van when I got it. So I now have to pay to get the van de-registered and then have it picked up as scrap parts. There has been some seriously negative karma against me this weekend and I don’t know what I have done wrong.
